AI Art vs. Human Art
What is AI art?
AI art is exactly what you see in the picture above. It’s art that is completely generated by AI. AI is given a prompt and takes that prompt to generate an image based off of it.
Some popular AI models that are able to generate images include DALL-E 3, Microsoft Copilot, Adobe Firefly, and Midjourney. These are just a few examples as there are many programs which are capable of generating images.
How does is work?
For this example we will be using Microsoft Copilot. I will enter the prompt “Generate an artistic logo incorporating digital design and AI”. You can see the result on the right.
As you can see it does a pretty decent job at taking some creative freedom with generating the image. However, with some models when you start incorporating words it beings to fail to accurate spell out words and can look off.
If AI art improves it can very well take over actual art and could become indistinguishable from it.
AI Art Vs. Real Art – Losing Naturalism
At this point, many artists don’t particularly like the idea of AI art. They feel it takes away the human element and creativity which some love about actual art. To artists, AI can’t replicate the depth, intention, and emotional resonance that comes with natural human made art. While it can be a great tool for inspiration, it takes away all the aspects of art that make art what it is.
